'Lorraine Foster
'Live At The Alma' Street
Café is a superb 12 song recording of popular, broadway and
big band vocal arrangements recorded with some of Vancouvers finest jazz
musicians. Selections include; "'S Wonderful", "Alright OK You Win",
"My Romance", "Our Love Is Here To Stay" and the popular Duke
Ellington number "It Dont Mean A Thing If It Aint Got That Swing".
Lorraine Foster learned her craft where many of the legendary vocalists of the big band
era found their inspiration, singing with the bands. She can usually be found in Vancouver
performing with the legendary Dal Richards and his Orchestra. CLICK HERE. |

'Lily-Ann
MacDonald - 'Everybody's Crying Mercy' is a born in Ontario but roots in the Maritimes (the Barra
MacNeil's are her cousins) singer now living in Vancouver. Early influences include the
folk music of her Scottish parents, plus big
helpings of rock 'n' roll, country, R & B
and gospel. But the songs recorded here - some familiar, some obscure - are the jazz
classics she has been humming her whole life, in sparkling new arrangements by pianist
Miles Black and producer Rick Kilburn. This is Lily-Ann's first solo CD and I'm sure there
will be more. CLICK HERE. |
