We are saddened to report that Dave (Pappy) Hamel passed away on Sunday October 7, 2007. We shall all miss his music, his smile and his love of life. Four time 'Hall of Fame' winner Dave (Pappy) Hamel was born and brought up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and has recently released his new album 'Heads You Win' .... which is now receiving extensive European and US airplay. It is a brilliant, classic, light jazz/country swing album consisting of 12 great songs. The album consists of original material as well as cover songs of some of the great hits of Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra and Marty Robbins. The opening track of 'I Don't Know Why I Love You' sets the tone, and Dave infuses his songs with a warmth and compelling sincerity of the rich tapestry of his country-swing music.
